artist statement

Semblances of a diverse group of objects are borrowed from their original purposes and spaces. They are gently re-clothed and re-imagined; given another life and intention. They retain the purity of their original shapes and mirror nature’s love of repetition. The process also marked with repetitive gestures. They are limited in tone and minimal but still with traces of the maker’s hand.

They are re-imagined in their markings, texture, and scale. Some are meditative and silent and others playful and humorous in their familiarity. All are cared for and protected by humble materials (twine, paper, plastic sheets, wire) to encourage a second look. And perhaps to foster an altered view of the objects/spaces around us from which they existed.
